Redbox, Redbox, how I love thee...

Do y'all know about Redbox?
Redbox is a movie rental system that is in places all over the country. I had heard about it a while ago and didn't think there were any Redboxes around here, but the other day, I realized we had one at a grocery store I rarely visit across the river. Then I read The Centsible Sawyer's post about Redbox and realized I needed to get on board.

There are several truly great things about Redbox.

1. Rentals are $1/ day.

2. There are almost always codes available for free rentals.

3. They have lots of new releases.

4. They are quick and pretty convenient.

So far, we've rented Dan in Real Life, Barbie Mariposa :), The Dark is Rising: The Seeker, and Catch and Release -- for FREE!! They were all in great condition and it has been really nice to try out new movies for FREE!!

Hey - I just found your blog....I read thru all of your stuff. My favorite parts? Your kids are amazing. Seriously, either you are quite the photographer or your kids just flat out have a special aura about them. I mean seriously April, I was laughing out loud at the antics you shared, and the pictures of your daughter at the Tea-Party WERE HYSTERICAL. I love your little boy's birthday picture at Culvers. WOW, you have such a special life, and you can tell that you really make your kids happy.......now I can tell you: Apey, I'm so very proud of you. You're quite an amazing woman. Peace out - Vuhlfie.

Oh, Wolfie, thanks. I would love to think it's the kids' luminous nature, but I think it's the camera. It's a Nikon D40x and it takes pretty great pictures despite the operator.

Amy... it was... different. It had the same character names, mostly, and the same very general plot (Dark is rising, Light must overcome ergo Will must find signs), but other than that it was completely different from the book. I think the movie itself was ok, but I don't know -- I was looking at it as a representation of the book. And that was very, very different, and the changes were so extreme that it was another thing altogether, know what I mean?

AND Christopher Eccleston was creepy-CE, not hot-CE, which was a tad disappointing. I was hoping he'd be like Norfolk from Elizabeth -- in fact if he could have worn the same outfit, same hair, etc., that would have been nice. :)

Watch it sometime and let me know what you think!

I'm in northern IL. You can search at the Redbox site for a location near you. We didn't have one for a long time and then it arrived a few months ago. If you don't have one now, my guess is it is headed your way!
