Employed!

Dennis got a job offer today from Case New Holland in Goodfield! That's just 7 miles from our house, for those who are not familiar with the terrain in central IL.

We are so thankful. So, so, so, very, VERY thankful! He will start work on Aug. 24 -- one month to the date -- that he was laid off. He'll be doing product development, which is his passion, and his salary and benefits are very similar to his previous position. Except that he gets an extra week in holidays and may get an extra week of vacation. Wow.

We have been all teary and weeping since we heard. God is just so, so, so good to us. My mind cannot really conceive of it all...

oh, thanks be to God.

i continue to pray daily that God will open doors to meaningful vocational service and growth for Kev, but realize that his basically unemployed status is providing an opportunity of grace in the child care department and in the growth as disciplined stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

YAY for you sweet hubby's job!:)

Your baby is gorgeous!

And I think you are on the right track for Sabbath rest with getting organized the night before. All I have done to help our Sabbath be easier is to make Sunday night sandwich night. I keep thinking that I want it to be more restful, but we aren't getting there. I hope someone leaves you some ideas. I would love to read them. Tecnically, I think Sabbath starts Friday at sunset?? I sometimes wonder if Saturday wouldn't be a better day for actual resting since we generally don't have anywhere we need to be...neither day seems very restful to me in my current situation, but my idea of resting would be some good, unbroken sleep right now.
