The computer will be back tomorrow. It only cost $90 and we only lost a few things, but all of the pictures are safe. Wake-up call, it was! Go forth and back up!!

Hey--where did you go to get it fixed? Jim's laptop did the same and we need to try to recover some of the data, but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars.
Amy, we had it done at William and Mary Computer Center here in town. Actually, the data recovery was only $30. Reinstalling Windows was the other $60. I'd call around to computer places down there and ask what their bench fee is. Then tell them to call you before they do anything over a certain amount. Good luck.
Oh, WOW! What a relief! So glad to hear the good news. Your two li'l bits are WAY too precious for all their pictures to be lost.
